Hewlett Packard Finance and Procurement Operations

Responsible for the finance and procurement operations of Hewlett Packard Managed Services for the outsourcing of Bank of Ireland P.L.C. I.T. Infrastructure in the U.K. and Ireland. Contract in excess of €600m, co-ordinating staff of 350, resulting in savings of 20%.

Responsible for all financial and commercial areas of the outsourcing deal also leading the commercial and financial negotiations with the outsourced client Bank of Ireland.

Project Involved:

Successful transition of staff from Bank of Ireland to H.P.
Implemented a strategy for vendor management of all 3rd party hardware and software contracts (annual value in excess of €30m) resulting in significant savings through efficiencies and consolidation.
Led the post-contract verification exercise including identifying key financial issues in the contract.
Designed and implement internal financial and procurement controls and processes for the deal.
Reviewed and evaluated all pricing proposals for new services

Result:

Re-negotiated with the customer key changes required in the contract, securing significant savings.
Achieved headcount reductions of 10% and cost savings in excess of €8m or 15% which resulted in the turnaround of deal from a loss-making contract to profitability.
Increased revenue from new services by 20% or €12m.
